Autorka omawia wielkość, strukturę i kierunki napływu kapitału francuskiego do Polski, prezentując motywy skłaniające firmy francuskie do inwestowania w naszym kraju. Autorka przeprowadza makroekonomiczny szacunek wpływu inwestycji bezpośrednich na gospodarkę kraju importującego kapitał.

In this article, the author characterises foreign direct investments made in Poland by French firms. She defines the notion of direct investments and describes the general structure and dynamics of capital inflows in the form of foreign investments to Poland in the 1990s. The author carries out a macroeconomic assessment of the impact of direct investments on the economy of the country importing capital. The author looks at the factors governing the investment climate. She characterises the investments made by French companies in terms of their size, the dynamics of inflows, and the branch structure of the invested capital. She also identifies the chief motives of French investors deciding to invest in Poland. The main disadvantages of doing business in Poland, as identified by French companies, are also presented. Finally, the author lists the largest French companies that have invested in Poland. (short original abstract)
