Abstrakty

Do skalkulowania składki ubezpieczeniowej konieczne jest właściwe oszacowanie ryzyka przy wykorzystaniu pewnych metod statystycznych. W pracy omówiono zasady kalkulacji i konstrukcji składek na podstawie teorii użyteczności.

In order to calculate an insurance premium it is neccessary to assess properly the risk involved by means of certain statistical methods. This is possible by applying, inter alia, a utility principle. In the theory of utility it is assumed rhat money constitutes a certain utility value. In order to illusttrate this principle we use a suitable utility function. It is assumed that basing on this function, the expected premium equals the expected utility of an insurance not bought. The calculations are illustrated with the numerical examples based on the fictitious data. As the utility functions the following functions have been assumed: linear function, exponential function, power function, quadratic function and logarithmic function. Each of these functions fulfills the properties imposed on the utility function. Therefore, the net premiums have been calculated for them, assuming an aversion to the risk. A zero utility principle has been also considered. The determination of the premium rate is an extremely important problem for both an insurance company and an insurer, that is why the premium rate was calculated from the point of view of the insurer and the insured party.
