Factoring is a form of finance that covers the gap between the bank credits and self - crediting by a company. It is used in the developed economies including the USA, Great Britain, Germany and France. Also, it has been playing an increasing role in Poland, following the development of Polish market economy and therefore it deserves to be popularized. The aim of the article is to present the factoring as a particular form of short - term financing. The article discusses the factoring, its concept and types, its development in Poland and cost and benefits of this form of finance. (original abstract)
