Abstrakty

W pracy podjęto próbę oceny zróżnicowania powiatów województwa śląskiego pod względem poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego w 1998 roku. Sklasyfikowano powiaty według dwóch metod: Metody Hellwiga i metody standaryzowanych sum.

The paper presentsresults of the evaluation of the dispersion between the di stricts of the Silesian Voivoodeship according to the level of social-economic development in 1998. The classification of the Silesian Voivodeship was obtained by two methods: the method of hellwig and the method of standardised sums. the highest level of social-economic development was observed in urban the districts of the highest industrial and urban level. On the other end of this scale were the districts of low urban level with the strong domination of agriculture in their economic structures. These regions are characterised by insufficient level of infrastructure and the highest concentration of unemployment in all the Silesian Voivodeship. (short original abstract)
