Autorka w swojej pracy omawia ogólną charakterystykę i trendy na europejskim rynku pracy, opisując wybrane aspekty bezrobocia. Przedstawia też instytucjonalne podstawy europejskiej polityki zatrudnienia, prezentując kategorię zarobków na europejskim rynku pracy.

Trends and problems of the European labour market are very similar to the ones appearing on the polish labour market. The high unemployment of older people, increasing youth and long-term unemployment, increasing employment rate of women - those are the typical characteristics for both Polish and European labour merkets. because of that it seems reasonable to follow the example of the European Union in creating the employment policy in Poland. It is also important to use the European solutions by Poland considering its future membership in the European structures. The paper presents the general characteristics and trends on the European labour market. It describes the chosen aspects of the unemployment in the European Union countries. Then premises of the European employment policy and their institutional basis and guarantees are shown. The paper ends with the presentation of the wages category on the European labour market.
