Indeksy cenowe są podstawowym narzędziem służącym ocenie zmian wielu wielkości ekonomicznych. Ta różnorodność skłania do poszukiwania ogólnego modelu, który opisałby zasady tworzenia indeksów niezależnie od zakresu ich zastosowania. Jedna z prób formalizacji tego zagadnienia została dokonana przez Eichhorna i Voellera w 1976 roku.
Price indexes are basic tool for the description of inflation and situation on finance markets. Their axiomatic formulation was given by W. Eichorn and J. Voeller in 1976y. The presented system of axioms as independent and not inconsistent. However, the question arises whether each of them is essential as far as the phenomena described are concerned. In the presented work the analysis of these axioms is conducted from this particular point of view and also their proposed indication renders it possible to define the price index as the price level quotient.
