Regionalization of the Environment Protection Policy and Its Conceptual Scope

Abstrakty
Celem artykuł jest sprecyzowanie pojęć regionu oraz regionalizacji, w szczególności regionalizacji polityki ochrony środowiska. Autor dokonuje przeglądu definicji w literaturze polskiej. Konkluduje, że w procesie badań nad problematyką regionalizacji polityki ekologicznej należy uwzględnić dwa obszary: stopień upodmiotowienia regionów i zakres ich centralizacji.
The aim of the paper was to give a precise definition of a region and regionalization, in particular the regionalization of the environment protection policy. The authors have reviewed subject literature providing a variety of definitions for the terms in question. Concluding, it has been pointed out that two issues need to be addressed in the process of researching the area of the regionalization of the environment protection policy. On the one hand it has to be clear to what degree regions are subject to the policy and, on the other, where the regions are within the central structure. (J.W.)
