Globalizacja gospodarki jako zjawisko pociągające za sobą skutki społeczne i kulturowe spotkała się w literaturze z różnorodnością ocen i interpretacji. Autorka w opracowaniu podejmuje próbę definicji terminu "globalizacja" przedstawiając zarys problematyki.

As globalisation continues to extend itself in international relations, it brings both new problems and new ways of resolving them. Issues are raised by this process both for countries with stable and developed political, social and economic systems, and for those less economically developed. These issues present a challenge both for domestic politics and for bilateral, regional and global international relations. Seeing its most profound shifts in the 1990s, the international environment has been changing over the last couple of decades. This has engendered new perspectives on the world and on international relations. The world is becoming a new arena where different countries and cultures pursue their ideas and aspirations using different methods and styles, but always with aims informed by human concerns.
