W opracowaniu autor podjął próbę oceny działalności budownictwa w latach 1998-1999. Przedstawił uwarunkowania i główne trendy w gospodarce polskiej. Omówił wielkość i strukturę produkcji budowlanej, oraz zwrócił uwagę na regres w budownictwie mieszkaniowym. W zakończeniu przedstawił wyniki finansowe przedsiębiorstw budowlanych.
This article is a continuation of the author's work on construction activity in the 1990s. It includes an analysis and evaluation of the results of construction activity in the years 1998-1999. It also attempts to determine which of the trends that appeared in the mid-1990s in construction continued in the years 1998-1999. After the introduction, the second part of the article looks at the general conditions and main trends characterising the Polish economy in the years 1998-1999. In pert three, the author carries out an analysis of the scale, dynamics and structure of building and assembly work, which is an important gauge of the state of the construction market. Part four deals with the material effects of residential housing construction. In the final part of the article, the author analyses the financial and economic results of construction entities. The author concludes with a brief summary of the main points. (original abstract)
