Abstrakty

Przedmiotem artykułu były procesy inwestycyjne realizowane przez niezależne fundusze venture capital w zakresie inwestycji dokonywanych w innowacyjnych przedsiębiorstwach, które znajdują się we wczesnych fazach rozwoju oraz ekspansji. Krótki okres działalności tego typu inwestorów w Polsce oraz dominacja funduszy zagranicznych były powodami, dla których autor oparł swoje rozważania na doświadczeniach rynków zagranicznych, szczególnie niemieckiego.

Venture capital funds not only deliver capital shares, but also support companies in managing. Investing their funds in innovative ventures they act under the high risk conditions. Investment process consists of the following stages: capital acquisition, management control and support, disinvestment. A lo of the investment decisions are taken at every stages of the process. The procedures and criterion applied by venture capital are determined by the specific character of the undertaken investment. It is very difficult to identify the factors, because venture capital creates relatively narrow market segment and the amount of available is limited. (original abstract)
