Abstrakty

Autor przedstawił miary i testy oparte na rangach wiązanych. Zdaniem autora, przy porządkowaniu elementów do określonej grupy, często nie można dokonać rozróżnienia pomiędzy niektórymi z nich. Zastępując pomiary rangami, można stwierdzić, że niektóre pomiary są jednakowe. Powstają wówczas rangi wiązane. W takich sytuacjach każdemu z pomiarów wiązanych przypisuje się odpowiednią rangę średnią. Postępowanie takie wymaga modyfikacji statystyk testowych, w szczególności testu Manna-Whitneya z rangami wiązanymi. Zasadniczym przedmiotem analizy autora były własności tego testu.

Statistical information in the form of ranks may have different shapes. In some research, measurement often have the quantitative character but numbers are substituted for the ranks to avoid complex calculations or to give them a desirable form. From the point of view of effectiveness statistical inference based on ranks in many cases rivals with parametric methods. That is why we observe bigger and bigger theoretical interest in these methods, what is more the interest refers also to their applications. In theory the methods based on tied ranks (for example in identical measurements) are still problematical. In the paper we present the modification of Mann-Whitney rank test which includes tied ranks. We also give quantiles of complete distribution of Mann-Whitney statistics including tied ranks.
