Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono efekty konsolidacji banków, jaka ma miejsce na rynku w Polsce. Autorka skoncentrowała swoje badania na grupie bankowej PKO SA. W pierwszej kolejności zapoznano się z monografią banku, a następnie ze strukturą grupy bankowej. Poddano analizie dokumentację bankową, w tym bilanse, rachunki wyników. Zastosowoano również metodę wskaźnikową, celem której są ocena zyskowności kapitułowej, płynności finansowej i wypłacalności banku.

The consolidation of the banks is based on the fusion at two banks or more into one organization or as a result; the banking group is created where all members are acting jointly. The process has been observed in Poland for the past few years. The main reason behind the consolidation process is to overcome financial problems. Principally, the stronger bank takes over the weaker one. The fusion of PEKAO bank and 3 others banks took place in 1996 year, but they kept their separate bank names. One large bank-PEKAO S A was created as a result of the next fusion, in January 1996. The findings confirmed the consolidation benefits. The bank offer has been increased, the quality of provided services have been improved and the bank has been better prepared to compete with banking market. The process of consolidation will be continue, providing the measurable economic benefits. (original abstract)
