Artykuł przedstawia podstawowe problemy i wyzwania związane z zarządzaniem długiem publicznym Cesarstwa Japonii. Z powodu wysokiego stopnia skomplikowania i niskiej transparentności japońskiego systemu finansów publicznych oraz dominującego i stabilnego udziału długu sektora rządowego w strukturze zadłużenia publicznego Cesarstwa Japonii, rozważania koncentrują się przede wszystkim wokół zarządzania długiem sektora rządowego.

The article presented basic problems and challenges connected with management of public debt in the Japanese Empire. Consideration concentrates on management of government sector debt because of complicated financial system and low transparency of Japanese public finances. (M.P.)
