The paper presents comments on economic growth of Poland's regions based on the recently constructed data set on paths of GDP growth in Poland's regions (49 old voivodships) in the period 1986-1996. The data set was prepared in the framework of the research project "Regional Development of Poland 1986-1996. Measurement and Analysis", co-ordinated by the World Bank Office in Warsaw. Comments presented here concern a general pattern of economic growth of regions, which emerged from analysis of changes in regional GDP volumes. Differences in rates of growth appeared to depend on regional inflation rates. Analysis detected a significant tendency of per capita GDP volumes to converge towards the mean (b-convergence), which favours reduction of development disparities dispersion over time (s-convergence).

Artykuł jest częścią projektu badawczego "Rozwój regionalny Polski w latach 1986-1996 : pomiar i analiza", realizowanego przez Biuro Banku Światowego w Warszawie. Przedstawia ocenę wzrostu gospodarczego w województwach w Polsce opartą na danych o PKB w tych regionach za lata 1986-1996.
