Celem artykułu jest badanie relacji między aktywami i pasywami w zakładach ubezpieczeń na życie. Starannie skoordynowane sterowanie aktywami i pasywami pozwala na bardziej solidne i przynoszące zyski zarządzanie przedsiębiorstwem finansowym. Ta koordynacja znana jest pod nazwą Asset-Liability-Management (ALM). Omówiono pojęcie i zakres metody ALM, jej tło historyczne, techniki stosowane przez metodę ALM i jej perspektywy zastosowania w ubezpieczeniach na życie.(abstrakt oryginalny)

One of the important elements in Insurance is the observation of the relationships between lia- bilities, i.e. technical-insurance reserves and as- sets of an Insurance company. The examination of this relationship is of importance not only for life Insurance but also for property and other non life Insurance. This problem attracts morę and morę attention, if one considers the investigation of the economic situation of each Insurance company. The signification of this relationship beco- mes morę noticeable in constructing of indicatory economic evaluation of an Insurance company, as well as in all kinds of ratings of those compa- nies. A careful and co-ordinated steering of assets and liabilities allows for a morę solid and profita- ble management of a financial institution. Such co-ordination is refered to as Asset-Liability Management (ALM). Despite its significant potential benefits, only few insurers systematically investigate the poten- tiality offered by ALM.(original abstract)
