Funkcjonowanie międzynarodowego mechanizmu transmisyjnego stanowi jeden z głównych obszarów badań tzw. nowej makroekonomii gospodarki otwartej. Proces analizy międzynarodowego mechanizmu transmisyjnego jest skomplikowany ze względu na różne sposoby przepływu informacji między rynkami krajowymi i zagranicznymi. W niniejszym artykule skoncentrowano się na kursie walutowym jako kanale przenoszenia zakłóceń (zmian) między krajami. Omówiono także skutki przyjęcia założenia o podawaniu cen w handlu zagranicznym w walucie importera. Przedstawiono rozważania na temat wpływu ustalania cen w handlu zagranicznym na funkcjonowanie mechanizmu transmisyjnego po utworzeniu obszaru euro.
