Abstrakty

Artykuł syntetycznie ujmuje proces adaptacji Sojuszu Północnoatlantyckiego do zmieniającej się sytuacji międzynarodowej. Pierwszą próbą było przystosowanie się do zmian pozimnowojennych oraz nawiązanie współpracy z Rosją. Adaptacji NATO do zmieniającej się rzeczywistości zawsze towarzyszyły debaty na temat rozwoju struktury politycznej oraz poszerzenia środków reagowania na przyszłe kryzysy. I tak, omówione są koncepcje działania Sojuszu powstałe w roku 1999, wobec Bliskiego Wschodu w latach 1999-2001, misja po 11 września 2001, implikacje wojny w Iraku dla NATO czy problemy poruszane podczas kolejnych szczytów. Osobny podrozdział poświęcony jest pożądanemu charakterowi NATO z polskiej perspektywy.
