Celem analizy zróżnicowania regionalnego wewnątrz państw członkowskich UE i kandydujących do niej jest odpowiedź na pytania: jaki jest poziom zróżnicowania wewnątrz państw europejskich?; czy istnieje wyraźna różnica pomiędzy grupą państw członkowskich oraz państw kandydujących?; jakie jest zróżnicowanie wewnątrz omawianych grup państw europejskich?

In the last decade growth and convergence across countries and regions has come to occupy an increasingly important place among the interests of economists. There are some models and methods attempt to explain these processes. This is interested especially to those doing research on regional convergence in EU. Cohesion, the main goal of integration is still not achieved on satisfactory level. What more the question about regional and national convergence across the EU as well as within individual member states is still open. The paper presents a level of regional disparity of GDP/per head and unemployment rate in all the EU members and candidate countries. An analysis is based on coefficient of variation calculated for NUTS-3 regions, presented by "Eurostat". (short original abstract)
