Przedstawiono regulacje podatkowe leasingu samochodów osobowych w świetle ustaw podatkowych. Zamieszczono dane dotyczące rozwoju rynku leasingowego w Polsce w latach 1995-2002.

Until 30.09.2001 Poland used to be the only European country without favourable taxation solutions referring to car lease. Before 2000 the total value of car lease contracts never exceeded 1% of the total lease market value, which was exceptional on a global scale. In the late 2001 the figure reached 3,1%, and soared to" 8,3% in the early 2003. Both leasing companies and lessees claim that this is a positive result of changes in tax regulations concerning car lease. The author discusses the changes in legislation on car lease introduced on 1.10.2001 with reference to income tax and VAT, and tries to find out if those changes may have caused an upsurge in the number of car lease contracts.
