Small and Medium Enterprises as a Customer and a Partner of a Bank

Abstrakty
Przedmiotem rozważań w artykule są relacje zachodzące między bankami a małymi i średnimi przedsiębiorstwami. W tym celu omówiono zmiany zachodzące w systemie bankowym w Polsce. Następnie nakreślono ofertę banku w postaci obsługi rachunków bankowych, potrzeby firm oraz przepisy bankowe w tym zakresie. Scharakteryzowano formy obsługi operacyjnej oraz bariery obsługi kredytowej banku. Na koniec nakreślono kierunki rozwoju usług bankowych dla małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw w obliczu przystąpienia Polski do UE.
The Polish economy and oncoming accession to the UE require that the banks have started to pay more attention to problems of small and medium enterprises which probably will need additional funds in connection with the expected changes. Banks which want to provide for firm's needs try to adapt their offers to the expectations of the firm. The offer of the bank for small and medium firms is larger and larger and more complex. The modern offer of the bank is not limited to keeping the accounts and giving credits. Nowadays the small and medium enterprises have quite a lot choice of modern banking services such as, for example corporate banking, private banking, project finance, electronic banking services, support in preparing applications for the EU funds etc. The relationships between a bank and small and medium enterprises undergo major changes. The SMEs are today not only the customers but they are also perceived as partners of a bank. This segment of the market can be a dominant receiver of the bank products and services in the future.
