Abstrakty

Autorzy przeprowadzili badania, wśród 230 rolników z terenu Polski Północnej, na temat możliwości wprowadzenia upraw topoli do gospodarstwa rolniczego i jak ten rodzaj produkcji rolniczej wpłynąłby na finanse gospodarstwa i wartości krajobrazu wiejskiego. Badania takie uzasadnia fakt ograniczenia produkcji żywności i konieczność poszukiwania innych możliwości osiągania dochodów przez rolników.

Growing demand for food that was stopped lastly involved overproduction of traditional crops. Even marginal lands have been transformed on crop fields what simplified landscape structure and as consequence deteriorated natural processes. Nowadays food production is limited by legislation and demand so is room for introducing into rural areas different forms of agroforestry. Poplars plantations seems to be adequate system for farms because it can be expected to provide range of benefits after relatively short time. It is very important to recognize farmers ' knowledge and attitude to poplars cultivation. Research results proved that significant part of farmers assess positively presence poplars plots in rural landscape among other trees species. They can consider establishing poplars production on their farms in view of different benefits provided by the trees. They expect to be supported by state in know-how and in costs ' participating.
