Abstrakty

Dokonano oceny natężenia, wielkości i głównych kierunków migracji ludności Polski po 1989 r. celem ukazania tendencji występujących zarówno w przestrzennej mobilności wewnątrz kraju, jak i pomiędzy miastami i wsiami. Struktura demograficzna migrantów jest analizowana ze względu na wiek, płeć, wykształcenie i stan cywilny. W drugiej części pracy przedstawiono zmiany na polskim rynku pracy w latach 1990-2000 i jego wpływ na ruchy migracyjne.

The paper deals with the processes of internal migration and labour market in Poland after the year 1989. For the purpose of description of the tendencies in Polish inhabitants' mobility -especially between urban and rural areas - the author evaluates the intensity, magnitude and the main directions of the migration process. The demographic structure of the migrants has been analyzed according to age, gender, educational level and marital status. The internal migrations are closely connected with the economic and social conditions of the population. The economic growth and specially its influence on the labour market is one of the most important factors determining the internal migrations. For that reason, in the second part of the paper, the author considers the changes in the Polish labour market in the years 1990--2000 and its influence on the migration processes. The most interesting result of the presented research is that there is no correlation between migration process and unemployment. (original abstract)
