Abstrakty

Omówiono etapy powstawania autostrady A-4 z Katowic do Krakowa, począwszy od fazy projektowej poprzez przetargi, budowę, modernizacje po koncesjonowanie obiektu. Przedstawiono także aspekty związane z wpływem autostrady na zanieczyszczanie środowiska oraz aktywizowaniem działalności gospodarczej na terenach wokół autostrady.

Motorway investments in Poland have not been a problem of the last years. At the beginning of the article the author has presented the history of building the motorways since the end of the Second World War to the present times. The next part of the paper has described the particular characteristics of the process of building the motorway connecting Katowice and Krakow from the moment of its beginning till its exploitation. The author has presented the benefits which resulted from its exploitation for the development of the Silesian Province: -incomes to the budget, -increasing employment, -environmental protection, -stimulating areas adjoining to the motorway. The problem of the importance of the motorway for the Silesian inhabitants tourist movement has been also mentioned. (original abstract)
