Artykuł przedstawia walory przyrodnicze i kulturowe regionu Dolnej Austrii, które mogą mieć znaczący wpływ na rozwój turystyki w tym regionie. Dolna Austria posiada atrakcyjny i zróżnicowany krajobraz, bogactwo i atrakcyjność zasobów kulturowych i historycznych, niezbędnych do rozwoju turystyki. Dodatkowo dobrze rozwinięta infrastruktura pomaga w zorganizowaniu efektywnego wypoczynku, a wysoka jakość zaplecza turystycznego umożliwia uprawianie turystyki specjalistycznej i kwalifikowanej.

There in no union country of Austria, which is so rich in cultural goods and varied sceneries, like the Niderösterreich. The Danubian forests, fertile plateaus, swamps, moors, terraces with vineyards, snow-covered alpine tops are the elements of environment which encourage tourists to visit Austria and to do trips. There are a lot of castles, defensive fortresses which entertain visitors. We can't forget about museums which are full of famous gatherings. The Niderösterreich surrounds the capital of country - Vienna and it is unfairly named "the vestibule of Vienna". This region combines culture, tradition and nature. The seven regions on, which is divided the Niderösterreich, represent individual, different character, climate and customs. Natural scenery throws the most beautiful places to growing sport. Foot tourism is widespread here and we can't forget about bicycles and horses, because there are a lot of places which are well-prepared to these activities. Natural landscape offers beautiful places to practice sports disciplines and for rebilitation. The rivers of the Niderösterreich encourage to pedestrian trips, but not only. There are mountain rivers in the Southern Alps which are wonderful for canoeing, rafting. The Niderösterreich is also called "the region of golf". Generally we can say that sport infrastructure in this region is very complex. There are many sports fields, halls for squash and tennis-courts. Tourists can try angling, mountain climbing, more and more popular mountain biking, parachuting or ballooning. The Niderösterreich offers not only summer rest. It is possible to practice a lot winter activities. We can mention for example skiing, snowboarding. Ski tracks are very good prepared and they encourage to sport activities for whole family. In winter there is never problem with snow. This climate is wonderful for ski-fans. Thermal springs, therapeutic mud baths and the climatical health centers of health are situated whole area of the Niderösterreich. In many centers it is possible to take care on own health - wellness and fitness. There exist many national parks and landscape parks. To the values of the Niderösterreich we can also include natural, healthy and traditional, regional cuisine. This land of culture and art possesses the richest cultural offer in Austria too. In the future it will be promoted as: "The Niderösterreich - the cultural country of Austria". Important element of popularity of this union country on national market and foreign it is the leadership in aggressive promotion and advertisement. The Niderösterreich no longer wants to be associated with the stereotype, that Austria it is only the Alps and Vienna. The whole touristic potential of the Niderösterreich is underestimated, and maybe still unknown. (original abstract)
