Abstrakty

W artykule omówiono uwarunkowania i czynniki wpływające na zróżnicowanie siły nabywczej społeczeństw Unii Europejskiej. Rozważaniami objęto rozwój regionalny oraz dochody ludności i jej popyt.

The subject of the analysis are regional differences of disposable income of private households and factors which determine them. In the paper there is evaluated from one side relationship between purchasing power of regional societies and a stimulant - Gross Domestic Product and from the other side with destimulant - unemployment rate in regional profile. Notwithstanding conclusion concerning spatial income disproportions must be conducted with big caution because for instance information about scale of disparities between the poorest and the richest regions do not entitle to draw general conclusions. Therefore, much attention was given to methodical problems of comparisons. Enlargement of EU in 2004 included less developed countries in comparison to hitherto members and therefore in presented statistics these regions are treated separately. An important source of augmenting of purchasing power in regions is transfer of funds within European structural policy. Some general considerations concerning this policy are put at the end of this paper. (original abstract)
