Abstrakty
This article describes the relationships between the financial results of commercial banks and the rate of return their shareholders expect, and examines whether - based on a group of Polish banks listed on the stock exchange - expectations with regard to investment in the shares of banks that in the past had displayed greater variability in the rate of return were higher than in regard to investments bringing stable returns. Furthermore, the author attempts to estimate the return expected by shareholders using the CAPM model and attempts to estimate the level of risk-offsetting bank capital using the concept of at-risk profits. Net profit and gross revenues were used to measure the financial results of banks. (original abstract)
