The article deals with conditions of decision freedom in business context. Strengths and weaknesses focuses business to look internally at what one's business can do. Many business are great at looking inward, but fail to look outside their company. Threats and opportunities are external; focusing on the conditions of the real-world. To achieve the very best effort available, it is absolutely necessary to take into consideration local strategies, as well as other external conditions of running a business. It challenges one to see beyond one's company to determine what opportunities are open for one's company and how to capitalize on local strengths and opportunities. External environment often provides factors which can help companies to gain a strategic advantage. The paper examines the competitive advantage scenario in a holistic framework focused on development. It also indicates this keyword not only as a economical, but as a social category too.(original abstract)
