Abstrakty

W ostatnich latach coraz więcej uwagi poświęca się sektorowi małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw, który w większości państw stanowi niedocenianą, chociaż niezbędną i główną część systemu gospodarczego. W pracy omówiono działalność sektora małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw w gospodarce. Przedstawiono problem samozatrudniania jako z jeden z przejawów przedsiębiorczości.

Self-employment is a distinctive and systematically growing trend on the labour market all over the world. This trend is caused by decreasing employment costs, the liberalization of labour market regulations and the flattening of organizational structures. The facts are obvious - more people are seeking self-employment because medium-sized firms are not creating new jobs. Ten percent of Europeans and 20% of Taiwanese are self-employed. Self-employment raises the entrepreneurship index. In Europe, the average employment rate is 7 employees per firm. Ninety-five per cent of firms employ fewer than 10 people, giving employment to one third of the total labour force. Small firms are weaker and more sensitive to market fluctuations. Their inability to expand is not only their own problem but should also be the focus of governments, who have to take responsibility for former entrepreneurs by paying unemployment benefit to them. Besides micro-firms and the self-employed there are still other SME firms, which employ 60% of all employees and generate more than 50% of GNP. (original abstract)
