W artykule przedstawiono ocenę skali zjawiska bezrobocia i dynamiki jego zmian w latach 1998-2002 w układzie regionalnych rynków pracy. Omówiono także najistotniejsze elementy charakteryzujące rynki pracy.

The goal of this paper is to examine the scale of and changes in unemployment in the regional labour market from 1998-2002. The most essential characteristics of the labour market are also presented. The issue is broken down into three areas: the structure of unemployment by age, level of education and length of unemployment during the second half of 2003. The object of this portrayal of unemployment is to understand its characteristics in terms of the unemployed living in villages, the reason the unemployed were dismissed from their jobs, and the reason they do not possess the right to unemployment benefits.
