Omówiono wzajemne relacje pomiędzy producentami cukru, a plantatorami buraków cukrowych, które określa się jako porozumienia branżowe. Artykuł jest próbą wskazania dalszych losów tych relacji po uzyskaniu przez Polskę członkostwa w UE.

The paper introduces the role of the inter professional agreements in sugar market. Community legislation has provided for detailed rules governing contracts between beet growers and beet refming companies. These rules were drawn up to standardize to some degree the protection given to farmers by the contracts. Inter professional agreements typically contain, per excellence provisions concerning the purchase price, delivery periods, collection centers, quantity, quality and the method of payment. The rules set out the minimum legal protection which must be afforded to beet growers by the contract. This protection has arisen also in Polish regulation, but the agreement has not been signed yet. In such situation - after the 1st of May 2004 - those rules will be established by the proper minister. (original abstract)
