This article draws attention to certain regularities in the development of prices of selected warrants compared to model values resulting from option market theories. After preliminary analysis, the article focuses on the most liquid type of warrant - purchase and sale warrants on the WIG20. Based on conducted analyses, the author claims that the Polish market for warrants differs significantly from developed option markets, to which certain theories or models can be applied. The author presents the Black-Scholes model that can be applied only to a limited degree. In reality, in the case of purchase warrants that are mostly "in-the-money", the model would overstate their value as compared to the market. Similarly, in case of sales warrants that are significantly "in-the-money", it is possible to observe understated prices of warrants compared to their theoretical value. (original abstract)
