EN
A professional career, unequivocally associated with the individual and constituting an individual development path defined by decisions arrived at autonomously by the individual, is in essence a product of the opportunities and limitations of the environment in which it develops. Some of these are of a fundamental character and delve the deepest: to the very foundations of understanding the rules and essence of that environment and of society. Others are long-term in character and constitute a system of conditions under which an organisation operates, upon which it is dependent and in relation to which pursued actions cannot be in conflict. The latter group of factors affecting the shape of individual careers has an immediate, organisationally regulated meaning. The goal of this article is to attempt to identify factors than affect the direction and tempo of pursuit of individual employee career paths and to define the extent of that impact. This will enable intentionality in shaping a career to be increased by identifying the strength of the factors that dominate it. (original abstract)
