W artykule przedstawiono genezę współpracy Norwegii z WE/UE. Opisano zasady współpracy w ramach Europejskiego Obszaru Gospodarczego oraz stanowisko Norwegii wobec Polityki Wewnętrznej i Wymiaru Sprawiedliwości UE.

The concepts of development of the twentieth century model of Norway's JL European policy evolved from a regional approach towards more formalized mechanisms of continental cooperation. The origins of bilateral relations with the European Union go back to the early sixties. At that time the issue of European integration appeared four times on the political agenda, in two cases the matter was put to the test of a referendum. Both in 1972 as in 1994 EU membership was rejected by the Norwegians. This had considerable impact on the further development of mutual relations. The nature of the political dialogue and the scope of solutions implemented caused Norway to be referred to as the 16th member of the EU, one which simply applied a very different model of integration. Is that, however, the case? The article sets out to acquaint us better with the history and nature of cooperation between Norway and the European Union, her particular areas of economic cooperation under the European Economic Area treaty, as well as her foreign policy and national security, internal matters and the justice system.(original abstract)
