Abstrakty

Głównym celem artykułu jest wykazanie współzależności pomiędzy teorią integracji międzynarodowej w ogólności i podejściami teoretycznymi wypracowanymi na gruncie integracji europejskiej a zmieniającym się charakterem procesu integracji w praktyce.

This article is devoted to the correlation between the theory of international integration in general and theoretical formulations developed on the basis of European integration against the background of the changing character of the integration process in practice. The author presents the successive development stages of the European integration process with particular attention to the three fundamental theoretical orientations: functionalism, neofunctionalism and federalism. The theoretical deliberations find empirical reference in the changing economic, political and legal-international conditions, beginning with the Treaty of Paris (1951) and finishing with the Treaty of Nice (2003). The conclusions include a discussion on the possibility of creating a uniform academic discipline devoted to European integration. (original abstract)
