Abstrakty

Artykuł dotyczy zagadnienia wahań gospodarczych, występujących na poziomie gospodarki regionalnej. Omówiono czynniki wahań gospodarki regionalnej.

Nowadays the role of regions in creating economic development has been increasing. Processes of globalisation and Europeisation aim at achieving social and economic cohesion within certain territorial organisations. Regions contribute to achieving such cohesion to the bigger extent. They are perceived as units that operate in more flexible way and easier adjust to the market, technological and cultural changes. The European spatial structure has been changing over years. The territorial units, regions and agglomerations have diversified their structure that leads to the regional economies fluctuations. Fluctuations and level of economic still differ, which influences the cohesion. What are the causes of such fluctuations, how do behave regions better developed in comparison to those - less developed, can regional policy be a stabilising one? The article tries to answer some of these questions. (original abstract)
