Omówiono dane dotyczące kapitału subskrybowanego i wpłaconego EBC. Przedstawiono udział i zmiany udziału narodowych banków centralnych w kapitale subskrybowanym EBC. Ostatnią część artykułu poświecono udziałowi Narodowego Banku Polskiego w kapitale subskrybowanym EBC.

The paper shows the role of the National Bank of Poland in the European System Central Banks (ESCB) depends principally on its share in the European Central Bank's (ECB's) subscribed capital. The ESCB comprises the ECB and the national central banks (NCBs) of all European Union Member States that have adopted the euro (euro area NCBs) and that have not yet adopted the euro (non-euro area NCBs). Therefore term "Eurosystem" denotes the ECB and the euro area NCBs. The NBP's (as euro area NCB) contribution represents 5,1380% of its share in the ECB's subscribed capital and amounts to a total of €285.912.705,92. It's worth saying that the NBP's as euro area NCB is the fifth biggest NCB of the ESCB, but the NBP's as non-euro area NCB can be the first or second biggest NCB of the non-euro area NCBs.
