Abstrakty
The paper is composed of two main parts. The first part is theoretical and devoted to an abridged presentation of methods employed to estimate econometric models on the basis of panel data. Such models are then used in the empirical part to conduct analyses of spatial variations in manufacturing activity in Poland. The research was executed according to voivodeships and with the classification of industries in a period of 24 months (1994-1995). At the first stage the analytical tool were one-equation models of production, employment and wages estimated on the basis of panel data. The other stage of research consisted in estimating a simultaneous equations model on the basis of panel data, combined from the three aforementioned equations. The obtained results proved the existence of significant variations in the outcomes of activity in terms of both criteria, and confirmed the applicability of the used estimation methods.
