Abstrakty

In recent years, insurance companies have used dynamic financial analysis (DFA) in risk management systems. The central DFA module is a scenario generator comprising a large number of stochastic models of risk factors: economic, insurance, investment, and operational. The real challenge in developing this model is comsbining all of these models in an integrated whole that will take into account the correlation between the greatest possible number of risk factors. In this respect, the author proposes two approaches: deterministic modelling of correlation (involving the postulating of functional dependencies between selected risk factors) and stochastic modelling. In this article, the author presents selected methods of stochastic modelling of correlation that can be used to develop a model to generate the most important insurance risk factors, i.e., the combined total compensation of an insurance company operating under several insurance groups. Using this method, it is possible to model the correlation structure in a specific insurance portfolio as well as between portfolios. (original abstract)
