Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest zarysowanie strategii przeciwdziałania ubóstwu dzieci stosowanych w Finlandii i Wielkiej Brytanii, ponieważ kraje te stosują odmienną logikę i wykorzystują odmienne instrumenty. Różnice te przedstawiono jako wynik sporu ideologicznego, dotyczącego zakresu ingerencji państwa w życie gospodarcze i społeczne oraz rezultat uwarunkowań strukturalnych (klasowo zdeterminowane interesy grupowe, które utrudniają uzgodnienie stanowiska, że niedopuszczenie do utraty talentów i zdolności zakumulowanych na dolnych poziomach struktury społecznej oznacza realizację dobra wspólnego).

The Reports by Innocenti Centre revealed that developed European countries face child poverty. Its extent is different in different countries and correlates with social welfare regimes and cultural patterns of the child. The lowest child poverty indices are observed in Nordic countries, the highest in United Kingdom, Ireland and Italy. In the article are presented strategies counteracting child poverty as implemented in Finland and Great Britain. The sociology of childhood study carried out among poor children in England points out possibility to enhance standard repertoire used to counteract child poverty. (original abstract)
