Abstrakty

Zamieszczono analizę podstawowych wskaźników gospodarczych wybranych krajów. Przeprowadzono analizę wymiany handlowej regionów i wybranych krajów. Omówiono wymianę handlową Unii Europejskiej z Chinami i wpływ inwestycji zagranicznych na rozwój chińskiej gospodarki.

In recent decades, another change in the balance of power in the world economy has taken place, namely, the sudden rise in the importance of China on the international stage. Until recently, China was regarded as a very populous nation without any major economic significance. The economic reforms undertaken in China have meant that, for several years now, the country has surprised everyone with its rate of economic growth, higher contribution to international trade, and rapidly increasing level of foreign investment. The subject of this article is China's competitive position on the international stage. The authors assess China's economy by comparing it to the world's most highly developed economies, including the European Union. To this end, they analyse the main indicators of economic development, the volume of trade, and the level of foreign direct investment. (original abstract)
