Pojęto próbę oceny konsekwencji przejmowania polskich banków przez inwestorów zagranicznych dla skuteczności polityki monetarnej NBP. Pracę oparto na wynikach badań empirycznych prowadzonych w odniesieniu do największych banków.

This article focuses on the sensitivity of Polish banks to monetary policy instruments given the take over of the banking sector by foreign capital. The research deals with the reaction of the interest rates of seven products in 15 banks with the highest share of net assets in the Polish banking sector from 1998 to the first half of 2002. The author uses classical linear regression models as well as observation of the curves illustrating changes in the average monthly interest rates of individual banks and groups of banks with similar ownership structures. Based on the obtained results, the author concludes that ownership structure is not a determining factor in the reaction of banks. The type of product in question determines the sensitivity to changes in the market interest rate. Whereas higher sensitivity in the group of products offered also or exclusively to businesses was observed in banks in which a strategic foreign investor held a dominant share, higher sensitivity in the group of products offered to individuals was noted in banks with a dominant share of domestic capital.(original abstract)
