Omówiono różnice w opodatkowaniu działalności rolniczej przedstawiając działalność zryczałtowaną oraz działalność opodatkowaną podatkiem VAT. Przedstawiono również przykład praktyczny takiej działalności.

Pursuant to regulations of the Act on VAT there are two categories of farmers: a flat-rate farmer and a VAT payer farmer. Each farmer, irrespective of the specificity of agricultural activities or the size of the agricultural undertaking, makes a decision for himself whether to settle VAT on a flat-rate basis or in accordance with the general rules. Within the scope of the conducted agricultural activity the flat-rate farmer has been exempted from almost all obligations which are imposed within VAT on the farmer paying taxes in accordance with the general rules, in particular from the obligation to keep records of sales and purchases and to prepare the settlement declarations. On the other hand however, such system brings the VAT payer farmer many advantages, such as e.g. the right to a refund from the tax of/ice of the excess of the input tax over the output tax or the right to a refund of the input tax included at the purchase of investment goods. Thus a question arises why the choice of VAT taxation in accordance with the general rules is not popular with farmers and is rather incidental ? (original abstract)
