Zaprezentowano nowy obszar turystyki związany z koncepcją rozwoju zrównoważonego. Zadaniem opracowania jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy istnieje możliwość wspierania zasad rozwoju zrównoważonego w kontekście ekoturystyki poprzez finansowanie klastra turystycznego.

The issue of sustainable development became the subject of broad international debate already at the beginning of the 1980s. Initially, it was viewed narrowly as environmental protection; it has evolved, however, into a broader concept that includes not only the environment, but also a focus on economic growth and high standards of living. In selecting the four key elements from the perspective of the dynamic changes in the tourism sector - i.e., innovation, clusters, networks, and public participation - a general analysis of these elements was conducted for the newly-developed Tourism Development Strategy for Kraków, 2006-2013. The presentation of selected development priorities enabled the author to identify the potential that this document holds for these elements of sustainable development as well as their important role in the implementation of this concept in tourism in Kraków and the region.
