Abstrakty
Zaprezentowano charakterystykę systemów Business Intelligence w kontekście ich wykorzystania jako narzędzi kierowania przedsiębiorstwem. Omówiono znaczenie terminu Business Intelligence, a także zwrócono uwagę na rolę informacji w zarządzaniu.
In recent years, significant changes have occurred in the extent of information use in enterprises. Management is becoming increasingly aware of the strategic role of information resources and the function of obtaining, collecting, processing, and making available the information necessary to manage a company. The availability of computer technology and its growing capabilities mean that increasingly more entities are implementing IT systems to support company operations. The literature on the subject, and foremost the information materials of software producers, increasingly employ the term Business Intelligence to defining a wide range of company management support products. In this article, the author presents a thorough description of Business Intelligence systems in the context of their application as a company management tool. (original abstract)
