Abstrakty

Przedstawiono podmioty funkcjonujące na rynku dzieł sztuki uwzględniając udziały instytucji aukcyjnych. Omówiono zagadnienie kształtowania się wartości sprzedaży dzieł sztuki na rynku światowym. Scharakteryzowano ilościowy aspekt sprzedaży obejmujący analizę zmian liczby transakcji przeprowadzonych na aukcjach dzieł sztuki. Określono wartość sprzedaży aukcyjnej dzieł sztuki z uwzględnieniem kryterium autorstwa oraz czasu powstania dzieł.

In this paper, the author discusses the main trends on the world art market at the turn of the 20th century. Her analysis addresses several key questions, namely: the organisation of the market in terms of institutions, the volume and value of sales, and the market structure. In the first part of the paper, the author discusses institutions operating on the art market, including auction houses. In this context, she pays particular attention to the number of people employed in the art trading sector. Next, the author discusses the issue of how artworks are valued on the world art market. The analysis was conducted over time and across countries. Thanks to this, it was possible to identify the changing participation of various countries in the art market. In addition, the author discusses the quantitative aspect of sales and analyses the changes in the number of transactions concluded at art auctions. She also analyses the structure of sold works of art, taking into account the criterion of authorship and the time of creation of sold works of art.(original abstract)
