Zaprezentowano przegląd przyczyn popularności w Europie języka angielskiego jako języka praktyki rachunkowości oraz Międzynarodowych Standardów Sprawozdawczości Finansowej. Omówiono zagrożenia dla rachunkowości, jakie taka popularność języka za sobą niesie.
The basic influence on the present shape of accounting has the civilization of the Western Europe. However for the last years it is the Anglo-American culture that dominates accounting. The aim of this paper is to review the reasons for the growing popularity of English as the language of accounting practice and the IFRS. (original abstract)
