Abstrakty

Autorzy skoncentrowali się na makroekonomicznych aspektach powiązań zachodzących między religią a ekonomią polityczną. Tym samym ich praca empiryczna bazowała na zagregowanych dla poszczególnych krajów informacjach, które uprzednio zgromadzono w sondażach, na temat przekonań religijnych co do życia po śmierci, uczestnictwa w formalnych nabożeństwach i praktykowania modlitwy osobistej. Badania autorów były w części ukierunkowane na udokumentowanie wpływu, który na religijność wywierają, wzrost gospodarczy, rozwiązania instytucjonalne (państwo) i rozkład przynależności religijnej. Drugim kierunkiem badań była ocena oddziaływania religii na wzrost gospodarczy. Autorzy położyli nacisk na rolę przekonań religijnych i uczestnictwa w nabożeństwach w kształtowaniu wzrostu gospodarczego, ale uwzględnili również rozkład przynależności do głównych religii.
