Abstrakty

Celem referatu jest analiza tendencji w napływie zagranicznych inwestycji bezpośrednich (ZIB) do Malezji na tle innych państw Azji Południowo-Wschodniej oraz pokazanie trendów rządzących malezyjskimi inwestycjami wychodzącymi, ich geograficznej dystrybucji oraz względnego znaczenia relacji inwestycyjnych. Główną tezą jest twierdzenie, że w ciągu ostatnich 15 lat malezyjskie firmy stały się ważnym źródłem kapitału dla innych państw, w tym szczególnie regionu Azji Południowo-Wschodniej. Companies from developing countries have been playing an increasingly important role in the global economy. In this regard transnational companies from Asia have become one of the most active investors and source of capital. A good example of this new phenomenon is Malaysia, which has transformed its economy from FDI recipient to FDI donor. During the last 25 years stock of Malaysian outward foreign direct investment grew from 0,2 mid USD in 1980 to 27,3 mid USD in 2006. Although in absolute terms the main destination of Malaysian foreign investment were industrialized countries, its relative importance was rather insignificant. On the other hand, outward FDI in neighbouring countries, however limited in value, played a substantially bigger role for host economies. (original abstract)
