Abstrakty

Przedstawiono pojęcia efektywności i konsekwencji dla właściwego rozumienia sposobu ujmowania stopy zwrotu w różnych jej ujęciach. Dokonano porównania średniej stopy zwrotu (ARR) i wewnętrznej stopy zwrotu (IRR). Zaprezentowano przekształcenie zmodyfikowanej stopy zwrotu MIRR, które z jednej strony znacznie ułatwia obliczenie tej stopy, a z drugiej świadczy, że jej istota jest zbieżna z miernikami NPVR oraz PI.

The first parts of the paper dwells on the development of the concepts included in the title. The special attention is drawn to the notion of effectiveness and to the consequence of the appropriate understanding of this word for the way of grasping the return rate with reference to its various facets. Next, two questions are discussed. First, working on the specified assumptions, the comparison ARR versus IRR is made with the conclusion that ARR refers to the relation of one-year effects to the costs borne reduced by the linear depreciation rate, and IRR refers to the analogical relation reduced by the annual depreciation rate. The effect of the convergence of these rates proves the possibility of the use of ARR for the estimation of projects, the realisation period of which is short and the changeability of effects in time is insignificant. Secondly, the transformation of the modified internal rate of MIRR return is presented. On the one hand, it significantly facilitates the calculation of this rate; on the other, it proves that its essence is convergent with NPVR and PI factors, the use of which is promoted in the literature of the subject for the estimation of mutually excluded investment projects. Consequently, the resulting conclusion is that the use of NPVR and PI factors is superfluous. (original abstract)
