This article looks at an interesting paradox: on one hand modern management theory emphasizes the role of knowledge-workers; society, as well as the economy, are often described as "knowledge driven". However, the organizational practices of many companies show something else: knowledge workers are under bigger pressure than average workers, and they often experience burn-out. (original abstract)
